A SMALL GUIDE TO PINSEE

Help & support

From your first install to understanding each metric and saving the originals you choose.

Install and get started

Release status: PinSee is preparing for its store release. This website does not yet provide a store installation link. The steps below are for users who already have the extension files.

01

Load the extension

Use Chrome 111 or later and unzip the PinSee package you received. Enter chrome://extensions in the address bar, enable Developer mode, and choose Load unpacked. Select the folder containing manifest.json. If using the project source, select its extension folder.

02

Open Pinterest and refresh

Open a supported Pinterest page and refresh existing pages after installation. Pinterest’s own sign-in and access requirements apply. No additional PinSee account is needed.

03

Choose your view

Open PinSee from the browser toolbar. Choose your metrics, keep stats always visible or show them only on hover, and set the language to Follow browser, Chinese, or English.

PinSee has been validated on real pages in Chrome. Chromium Edge may load the same extension, but real-world acceptance has not yet been completed. Firefox and Safari are not currently supported.

Understanding the metrics

Comments and media resolution are off by default and can be enabled in the popup. A value of 0 is shown only when the platform returns zero. Missing data or a failed read is shown as “Not provided”.

MetricMeaning
LikesHeart reactions only. Not saves or the sum of all reaction types.
SavesThe aggregate save count supplied by Pinterest, without substituting repin counts.
CommentsThe total of ordinary comments and photo replies supplied by the platform. Both parts must be valid for a total to be shown.
Created dateThe current Pin’s creation date in your browser’s local time zone, not an inferred first publication date for the image.
Image resolutionThe original image’s pixel dimensions supplied by Pinterest, not thumbnail or displayed dimensions.
Video resolutionThe actual current frame size from the native player, which may change with playback quality. Unloaded videos show “Play to see”. This does not represent download or original upload quality.

Image and video downloads

One original image

Hover over or focus an image card. View original image opens it in a new tab; Download original image saves it directly. Only the original URL actually supplied by the platform is used, keeping its format without substituting a thumbnail.

Selected image batches

Choose Select images to download in the popup, check the images you want, then activate Download selected originals. Each batch supports up to 1,500 Pins and is saved under PinSee/date_time_batchID/ in your downloads folder. Identical originals are deduplicated, and failed items can be retried manually.

Stop upcoming tasks only stops files that have not started. An active browser download may continue. Completion is based on the browser’s download state. Selecting images does not automatically select new cards or scroll through an entire board.

Individual videos

Download video saves an MP4 supplied by Pinterest. HLS-only videos are marked unsupported; streams are not assembled or converted. Videos are not included in image batches.

Multi-image Pins use the representative image; Story Pin video uses the first video on the first page. Save only content you have the right to access and download. Using PinSee does not change copyright ownership or permissions.

Frequently asked questions

Why are no stats visible after installation?

Refresh the Pinterest page and check the main switch and metric settings. Only declared Pinterest domains and recognized numeric Pin links are supported. External ad links and anonymously encoded links may not show an overlay.

Why do I see “Not provided” or “Access limited”?

Pinterest may omit fields or restrict detail requests. PinSee keeps available data and pauses new detail requests after a restriction, without repeatedly retrying failed Pins. Refresh later to try again.

Will switching languages cancel a download?

No. Labels and toolbars update in place while reads, selections, and batches are preserved. Names and descriptions in the browser’s extension manager still follow the browser UI language.

Where do downloads go?

Files use your browser’s default downloads location. Image batches have dedicated PinSee subfolders, accessible through Open folder in the toolbar. Single images and MP4 filenames include the Pin ID.

Does turning off PinSee delete my files?

Saved files and browser download history are not deleted. Exiting selection, closing the tab, or disabling display stops upcoming tasks. Already-started downloads are managed by the browser.

Does PinSee read my Pinterest password or cookies?

It does not actively read, save, or export passwords or cookies. Necessary same-origin detail requests reuse the browser’s existing session, with site credentials handled normally by the browser. See the privacy policy for details.
